Proton Calendar is an easy-to-use planner and a time-management tool that keeps your schedule private

Proton Calendar is a calendar and time-management app from Proton AG, the company behind Proton Mail. It holds appointments and events, and doubles as a daily or monthly planner. The developer presents it for people who want their schedule kept private, arguing that a calendar can reveal as much about someone as their messages do.
The build we hold is Proton Calendar: Secure Events 2.34.1 (APK) for Android 6.0 and up.

Events can repeat daily, weekly, monthly, yearly or on a custom pattern, so a standing meeting only needs to be entered once. Each event can carry more than one reminder. Appointments can be scheduled in your local time zone or in a foreign one, which suits booking calls with people in another city or country.
You can switch between a daily planner and a monthly planner view, depending on how far ahead you need to look. A home screen widget displays your agenda without opening the app. The display can be set to dark mode or light mode.
The listing says the schedule syncs automatically across browsers and devices, so an event added on one device appears on the others. Up to 20 calendars can be managed in one account, but the listing marks this as a paid feature.
The developer says the app has no ads, no trackers and shares no data with third parties. Events exchanged between Proton Calendar users are described as end-to-end encrypted. Event names, descriptions and participants are described as encrypted on the company's servers, which the listing calls zero-access encryption. The listing also says the company is based in Switzerland, is funded by users rather than advertisers, and is GDPR and HIPAA compliant.
