Q Mobile - IFs do Brasil

What Q Mobile is and who it is for

Q Mobile is an unofficial app for Q-Acadêmico, the academic management system used by several Institutos Federais in Brazil. It was written by students in the 2014 class of the Técnico em Informática course at IFSUL Campus Camaquã, and it is not run by the institutions.

The app is for students. It only accepts student logins, so teachers and technical staff cannot sign in. The listing names 13 campuses it works with: IFAM, IFCE, IFES, IFF, IFG, IFGOIANO, IFMA, IFMT, IFPE, IFPI, IFRR, IFRS and IFSUL.

Checking grades and report cards

The main use the listing describes is looking up grades (notas) and report cards (boletins) from a phone. Both are taken from the Q-Acadêmico records for the student's account, shown in a layout adapted for small screens rather than the school's desktop web pages.

Timetables and the academic calendar

Class timetables (horários) and the academic calendar are the other two areas the listing names. Together with grades, they cover the information a student would otherwise look up on the school's site: what classes are scheduled, and when the term's dates fall.

Campuses and logins it supports

Q Mobile works across the 13 listed Institutos Federais, but only for student accounts. A student at any listed campus signs in with their own credentials. Staff and teacher accounts are not supported, so anyone outside the student group will not get a working login.
