Radio Garden

What Radio Garden is and who it suits

Radio Garden is a radio player built around a rotating globe. Each green dot marks a city or town, and tapping one brings up the radio stations broadcasting from that place.

It suits anyone who wants to hear local radio from other countries, or who likes browsing a map to find stations they would not otherwise come across.

Finding stations by picking a place on the globe

Rotate the globe to bring a region into view, then tap a green dot to tune into the stations from that city or town. Because the dots are places rather than genres, the stations you reach are tied to where they broadcast from.

The developer lists thousands of live stations worldwide, so the globe is the main way to move between them.

Saving favourite stations to return to

You can save stations as favourites for later listening. The saved list is how you get back to a station you found by chance on the globe without searching for its dot again.

Listening with the phone asleep

The radio keeps playing when the phone goes to sleep, so a station continues with the screen off. This lets the globe be used to pick a station and then left running in the background.

How the station list is kept up to date

The developer says it adds new stations every day and updates or removes ones that no longer work. That upkeep is what keeps the stations on the globe current from one visit to the next.
