Zoom Earth - Weather Forecast as a live weather map

Zoom Earth - Weather Forecast is a world weather map that also works as a hurricane tracker. It draws current conditions and forecasts onto a map you can move around, covering rain, wind, temperature and air pressure.

The listed uses are watching storms form, following wildfire smoke and checking conditions at a chosen location. It suits people who follow severe weather and want the picture on a map.

Satellite and radar views of current weather

Live satellite images come from NOAA GOES, JMA Himawari and EUMETSAT Meteosat, which the listing describes as geostationary satellites, and they refresh every 10 minutes. HD images from NASA's Aqua and Terra polar-orbiting satellites update twice a day.

The radar layer shows rain and snow detected by ground-based Doppler radar in real time. It also gives a short-term forecast produced by radar nowcasting.

Forecast layers for rain, wind and heat risk

The forecast maps use data from the DWD ICON and NOAA GFS weather models. The nine layers are precipitation (rain, snow and cloud cover on one map), surface wind speed and direction, wind gusts, air temperature at two metres, a feels-like temperature, relative humidity, dew point, wet-bulb temperature and sea-level pressure.
