What RecordPad records and who uses it

RecordPad Audio Recorder is a sound recorder from NCH Software for capturing voice, music and other audio on an Android phone. Recordings are saved as MP3 or WAV files, so they can be kept as ordinary audio files afterwards.

The listing names students, teachers and business professionals as its main users. The free version is licensed for non-commercial use only. Business use requires the separate RecordPad app that the listing links to.

Recording notes, speeches and presentations

The listing describes the recorder as a way to capture spoken notes and facts, so that they can be played back later. Speeches and other spoken material can be recorded the same way.

It is also positioned for preparing presentations. A talk can be recorded and played back to check its length and wording before it is given.

Making audiobook drafts and voice messages

The listing names audiobook creation as one of the recorder's uses, with reading recorded directly to an MP3 or WAV file. A draft can be made in one session and kept as a file.

Short personal audio messages are the other use the listing mentions. These can be saved and kept, including for listening while travelling.

Choosing between MP3 and WAV output

The listing gives two output formats: MP3, which is the compressed format, and WAV, which is the uncompressed one. Which to use depends on whether file size or unchanged audio matters more for the recording.

Both formats are named as the output for every use the listing describes, so the choice is made per recording.
