Finding and joining topic communities

The listing names more than 100,000 communities. Examples it gives include r/AskReddit for questions and answers, r/funny for jokes and memes, r/gaming for games news, r/worldnews for current events, and r/todayilearned for short factual posts.

Communities cover topics such as technology, sports, TV fan theories, pop culture and AI. You can browse them by subject and join the ones you want to follow. Once joined, their posts are the material you read and reply to.

Voting, karma and how posts rise

Each post and comment can be upvoted or downvoted. Votes raise or lower the score of the post and the karma of its author. Higher-voted posts move toward the top of a community, and lower-quality ones sink out of view.

Karma does not limit what you can do in the app, according to the listing. It does affect how visible your posts are. Some communities set a karma minimum before a member can post or comment, which the listing says helps keep content in line with each community's standards.

Asking questions and joining AMAs

Users can post questions to a community and get answers from other members. Typical subjects in the listing include relationships, mental health, parenting, career and fitness plans.

AMAs, short for Ask Me Anything, are question sessions where celebrities, politicians or experts answer questions from users. Replies appear in the same threads as everything else, so you read them alongside ordinary community discussion.

Reddit Premium subscription terms

Reddit Premium is an optional paid subscription. It removes ads and adds premium avatar gear, access to the r/lounge community, and custom app icons. It is billed monthly or annually through your Google Play account and renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You cancel in your device's Account Settings. The listing states that no partial refunds are given.
