What Remote For Daikin AC is for
Remote For Daikin AC is a phone app that works as a replacement remote for Daikin air conditioners. It was built for people who have lost or misplaced the remote that came with their unit. The developer describes it as an independent app, not affiliated with or endorsed by Daikin Industries.
Its main job is controlling the air conditioner from the phone rather than from the original handset. Anyone who has a Daikin unit but no working remote is the person it is aimed at.
Infrared control without pairing or setup
The app sends its commands through the phone's infrared transmitter, the same kind of signal a conventional remote uses. The developer lists no setup step, so the app is meant to be used straight after it is installed.
Because the connection is infrared, the phone needs a line of sight to the unit, as a physical remote does. The app does not connect over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth according to the listing.
Daikin models and the developer's testing
The developer says the app's controls were tested across multiple Daikin models. The listing does not name which models, so the compatibility claim rests on the developer's own testing.
The app is presented as a quick alternative rather than a full replacement for the original hardware. Its controls are described as intuitive, but the listing does not go into the individual settings.
