What the Royal Game of Ur duel is
This is a two-player race game built on the Royal Game of Ur. The developer says the original was played by kings about 4,500 years ago. Each turn you roll dice, move pieces along a fixed path, and try to get every piece off the board before your opponent does.
It suits people who enjoy dice and strategy board games and want to play against other people online. The matches are turn-based, so each move is a decision rather than a reflex.
Rosettes, knock-backs and the shield
Landing on a rosette keeps a piece safe and gives you an extra roll, so the squares you pick matter as much as the dice. A piece that lands on an opposing piece sends it back to the start, which can undo several turns of progress in one move.
