A persistent fantasy MMORPG world

RuneScape is a massively multiplayer role-playing game set in Gielinor, which the listing places in its Sixth Age. The developer says the game has run for 20 years, and every player shares the same persistent world. The listing pitches it at people who want to fight through quests, run a farm, or simply leave a session going on a second screen.

Nothing in the listing sets a required playstyle. You can take on dangerous raids, work through a long story, or spend time on quieter activities such as cooking or farming. The choice of hero is yours from the start.

Skills, from woodcutting to Dungeoneering

Raids are described as group content, where you team up with friends to take on tougher encounters. Non-player characters range from companions and rogues to villains and vengeful gods, and they carry much of the story.

Places, trading and owning property

Locations named in the listing include the medieval city of Burthorpe, the harbour town of Catherby, the dragon-filled Wilderness and the Kharidian Desert. Players can own a port and run a farm on their own land.
