What the Smart Fit app is for
Smart Fit is the official app of the Smart Fit gym network, aimed at members who want their training planned and tracked on their phone. The listing describes it as a companion for workouts both inside and outside the gym. According to the summary, it is also where you buy your plan and manage your workouts.
Most of the app is built around strength training, with the workout plan, the exercise videos and the progress log all centred on weight machines and sets. The social side adds groups and challenges on top of that.
Building a workout from your own questionnaire
The workout is generated from answers you give in a detailed questionnaire the listing calls anamnese, a health and training history form. The plan is meant to suit those answers rather than a generic routine.
Once the workout exists, the app records the load and repetitions for each exercise, so you can see how your numbers change over time. It also offers guidance intended to help you improve your overall fitness.
Exercise videos and equipment guidance
Each exercise in your strength sets has an explanatory video. The developer says the videos show the correct movement, which is the main reason to open them before a session.
The videos also help you find the right machine or equipment for each movement, so you do not have to guess at a station in an unfamiliar gym. The listing says you follow the instructions shown in the app as you go.
Social groups, friend challenges and rankings
The Social tab is where groups and challenges live. You can join groups of people with the same goals and set up competitions with your friends.
Challenges come with a ranking that shows who trains the most, which the listing presents as a way to stay motivated and mark each achievement.
