What SongbookPro is for

SongbookPro is a digital songbook for people who play or sing from paper charts, lyric sheets and sheet music. The developer names guitarists, bassists and vocalists as its main users, along with anyone who carries heavy binders of songs to rehearsals or gigs.

It runs on a laptop or tablet, and the developer's listing says it replaces the stack of printed material with a single collection of songs that you read on screen.

Bringing songs in from files and websites

SongbookPro can import songs in the ChordPro and OnSong formats, as PDF documents, or directly from UltimateGuitar.com and WorshipTogether.com. Each source feeds the same library, so a song from a chord site can sit beside a PDF scanned from a printed book.

The listing describes the result as one universal digital songbook, with all of your songs gathered in one place.

Reading chords, lyrics and sheet music

Chord charts and lyrics are shown together in a layout the developer describes as clear and concise, aimed at playing without flipping pages. PDF files are displayed in full, so sheet music can be read in the app the same way.

Each song can be transposed to a new key and have its capo position changed. The listing presents both adjustments as quick, which matters when a singer needs a song a step higher on the night.

Building setlists for live playing

Songs can be grouped into sets, which lets you move from one song to the next during a live show without searching the library. The set is built from the same songs in your collection, so an arrangement changed in one place is used in the set too.

Setlists are the feature the listing ties most directly to performance, since they cover the order of songs and the switching between them on stage.

Sharing and syncing between devices

Songs and sets can be shared with other SongbookPro users. This is the route for a bandmate or a worship team member who needs the same charts.

The developer lists apps for Android, iOS, Windows 10 and Amazon Fire, and says a songbook can be synced between them, so the same collection appears on whichever device you open.
