The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

Monitor internet outages and measure internet and cell performance

Speedtest by Ookla is a network tool with three parts: a speed test, a coverage map, and an outage monitor that uses Downdetector data. The developer says the speed test has been run 55 billion times, and the app runs it against a global server network. It is aimed at people who want to know whether a slow connection is their own problem or a wider one.
The app works on both Wi-Fi and mobile data, so it can be used at home, on the road, or when a call or video keeps stalling.
The build we hold is Speedtest by Ookla 7.1.2 (APK) for Android 7.0 and up.

The classic speed test runs with one tap and reports download speed, upload speed, and three separate latency figures. Latency is the delay before a connection responds, and the three measures let you see where that delay sits. The developer positions the test for checking a slow connection and for confirming a network is ready before a gaming session.
Results are stored in a history of past tests, which can be shared directly from the app. That history makes it possible to compare readings taken at different times or places.
The Downdetector section shows real-time status for online apps and services. You can follow specific services so that status changes and disruptions appear as they happen. You can also report a problem you are seeing, which feeds into the same reporting system.
This part is useful for telling a faulty home connection apart from a service that is down for everyone.
The Maps tab uses real-world test data to show where each mobile provider has strong and weak coverage in your area. It also marks where 5G is available and shows which network technology is most common where you are. Coverage can be compared between providers before you choose one or check a dead spot.
The video test estimates the streaming quality your network can currently support and suggests changes to improve online video. It is intended for planning before a film or series is streamed.
The app shows ads by default. The listing offers an option to remove them, which is presented as an alternative for people who want Speedtest without ads.
