What Spider Solitaire is and who it suits

Spider Solitaire is a patience card game where you build stacks of cards in the same suit, running from King down to Ace. The app is free to play and offers the classic Spider rules along with a Spiderette mode.

It suits players who already know solitaire and want a game that grows harder as they improve. Each hand deals a new puzzle, so there is no repeated layout to memorise.

Choosing between 1, 2 and 4 suit play

The game starts with a one suit deal, which is the easiest version. Two suit and four suit deals mix several suits into the same tableau, which makes it harder to find a clean run.

Single deck Spiderette is the other format on offer. It uses one deck rather than the full Spider setup, and the listing presents it as the top step in difficulty, to be played once your skills improve.

Moving cards with taps, drags and sound

You can move cards with a tap or with a drag, so you can pick the control that suits how you play. The listing says the card animations are simple and quick, and that the game has sound effects during play.

Both portrait and landscape orientations are supported, so the table can be turned to fit however you hold the device.

Changing the card and background look
