Easy to use step counter, calorie counter helps lose weight, count steps offline

Step Counter - Pedometer is a pedometer for Android that records a person's daily walking in the background. The listing says it runs on the phone's built-in exercise tracking rather than on a separate wearable, and it is free.
The app is aimed at people who want a simple daily log of steps and a rough picture of calories and distance, without a fitness band. The listing presents it as a way to stay active and help with weight loss.
Tracking begins when the user taps the START button. After that the app counts steps whether the phone is in a hand or a pocket, and it keeps counting with the screen locked.
The listing says counting works offline. The app does not use GPS or Wi-Fi, which the developer gives as the reason it uses less battery than a route-tracking app.
Alongside steps, the app records calories burned, walking distance and how long the walk lasted. These figures are estimated from the step count and the phone's built-in sensor, so they are only as exact as that data.
Because the figures come from the sensor, the listing does not describe any route map or location history. The app's output is the step-based numbers themselves.
Background tracking can be paused, so steps are not counted during a car journey, and resumed whenever the user chooses. This is the listing's example of a situation where automatic counting is unwanted.
The sensitivity of the built-in sensor can be adjusted. The listing says this is meant to improve how accurately steps are counted.
The build we hold is Step Counter - Pedometer 1.5.9 (APKS split bundle) for Android 7.0 and up.
