What Sticker.ly (WASticker) is for
Sticker.ly is a sticker app built around animated GIF stickers for WhatsApp and Telegram. It has two sides: a library of sticker packs to browse and use, and a maker for cutting out stickers from your own photos and videos. The listing also names brand building as a use.
The library covers TV shows, celebrities, animals, sports, anime, memes, lyrics, quotes, typography and emojis. Someone who sends stickers in chats will find the browsing side most useful. Someone who wants to make their own packs will use the maker.
Browsing sticker packs and video status
The listing says the library holds more than 500,000 animated sticker packs and thousands of video status clips. Packs can be added to chats and to WhatsApp status from inside the app.
Following a creator or artist sends you their new sticker packs as they are published, so a favourite maker's work does not need to be searched for again.
Making stickers from photos and videos
To make a sticker from a photo, you pick the image and the app cuts out the subject using image segmentation. The listing credits SenseTime for that technology. You can then move, resize and rotate the cut-out and add captions on each sticker.
For video, the Auto Cut feature turns a clip into an animated sticker. The listing says there is no limit on the number of custom stickers you can create.
Exporting packs to WhatsApp and Telegram
Building a pack follows four steps: name the pack, select the photos, add captions, then export the stickers to WhatsApp. The same GIF stickers can be exported to Telegram.
Finished GIF emoji packs can be shared with other people through a link. The listing describes the app as free.
