What the app changes at the top of the screen
Super Status Bar is a personalization app for the status bar, the strip across the top of an Android screen that holds the clock, icons and notifications. It suits people who want that strip to show more or respond differently, rather than people looking for a full theme.
It works through three kinds of change: a notification ticker, swipe gestures on the bar, and visual additions such as a battery bar and restyled icons.
Scrolling notification text in the status bar
The ticker shows incoming notifications as scrolling text along the status bar, so you can read them without a pop-up. You can set the font, text color, size and how fast the text moves.
The developer lists an option for the ticker to take the place of floating heads-up notifications.
Adjusting brightness and volume with a swipe
Swiping along the status bar changes screen brightness or volume without opening settings or pulling down the notification shade. Volume can be adjusted separately for media, ring, notification, alarm and call audio.
A smart detection option adjusts whichever audio is currently active, so a swipe goes to the sound that is playing.
Gesture shortcuts, battery bar and icon styling
Gesture shortcuts can be assigned to actions of your choice on the status bar. A battery bar can be added to the bar, and the status icons can be restyled to match a look you pick.
Together these turn the bar into a place for quick actions and at-a-glance battery level, alongside the ticker and volume and brightness swipes.
