What Talking Translator is for

Talking Translator is a translation app for conversations between people who do not share a language. The developer names travel, business trips, buyer meetings and everyday talk as the main uses.

It is aimed at anyone who needs to follow or answer someone in another language without stopping to type. Most of its features are built around speaking, with a handwriting option for written text.

Speaking and translating in real time

Voice recognition is ready as soon as the app opens, so you can speak and get a translation without setting anything up first. The listing advertises results in about one second and says voice recognition still works on an unstable internet connection.

The Shared View feature shows the exchange on a screen that both people can read. The listing presents it as a way for a traveller and a local, or a buyer and a seller, to follow the same conversation.

Translating handwritten text
