What Taptap Send is for
Taptap Send is a money transfer app for people who send money to family or friends in other countries. It is built for regular remittances, the kind of monthly or occasional support that goes to relatives in places like Mexico, India, the Philippines, Nigeria or Pakistan. The developer describes it as licensed as a money transmitter in the United States.
The app covers recipients across Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. Money goes straight into the bank accounts and mobile wallets the recipient already uses, so the person receiving it does not need a new account to get paid.
Choosing how money reaches the recipient
The payout options depend on the destination. For Mexico the developer lists BBVA, Banorte, OXXO and Chedraui. For India it lists instant UPI payments along with HDFC, ICICI, SBI and Axis Bank accounts. Other countries have their own local bank and wallet routes, which the app shows as you pick a destination.
Because payouts go to existing bank accounts and wallets, the recipient can collect cash at a local retailer or use a phone wallet, depending on what they already have set up.
Fees, exchange rates and transfer cost
On a set of key routes the developer lists no transfer fee: Nigeria, India, Mexico and Brazil. Each of these still carries an exchange rate margin, so the cost is built into the rate rather than charged separately. On routes such as Pakistan, the Philippines and Colombia, the app lists low fees that are shown before you send.
Because the fee and rate are displayed before confirmation, you can see the total the recipient will get before the transfer goes through.
Speed and when you can send
The developer says 95% of its global transfers arrive in under 3 minutes, citing internal data from April 2025. Sending is not limited to office hours. The listing says transfers can be made in the evening, on weekends and on public holidays.
Speed and timing matter most for urgent needs, such as a bill due or a family emergency that cannot wait for a business day to clear.
