TNGB TREAT is the mobile banking app from Tamil Nadu Grama Bank. It is built for viewing account information and moving money between accounts held at the same bank, so it suits existing customers of Tamil Nadu Grama Bank.
The app covers a short set of everyday banking tasks rather than the wider range of services found in larger banking apps. Its listed functions are balance checks, mini statements, passbook-style statement downloads and within-bank transfers.
You log in with your MPIN or with your fingerprint. The listing offers these two methods and does not describe any other sign-in option.
Using an MPIN or fingerprint each time you open the app means you do not need to type your full banking password for routine access.
The balance enquiry shows the current balance on your account. The mini statement lists a short run of recent transactions, which is useful when you want a quick look at recent activity without a full statement.
For a longer record, the app can download an e-passbook statement for a date range you select. You can use the download to keep a copy of your account activity or to share it outside the app.
Fund transfers in the app are confirmed with a one-time password (OTP). The listing limits transfers to accounts within Tamil Nadu Grama Bank, so the app does not send money to other banks.
Each transfer needs the OTP before it goes through, which adds a confirmation step to every payment you make from the app.
