The app listing, the version table and the download step are laid out by this site’s stylesheet. With stylesheets switched off, or blocked before they arrive, none of that layout exists, so the page is not shown.

What torne mobile is for

torne® mobile is a TV app for people who already have a nasne, the network recorder and media storage unit from PlayStation's hardware line. It runs on a phone or tablet and talks to the nasne on your home network, so you can reach your recorded and live Japanese TV from inside the house or from outside it.

The listing presents it as a way to watch, check and book TV from wherever you are. Without a nasne, the listing says the main features do not work.

Watching live TV and recorded programs

The app plays broadcasts that are airing now and programs already saved on the nasne. Playback of recorded video works the same way, so one app covers both the live channel and the library.

Watching TV and playing video are behind an in-app purchase called 视聴再生機能, priced at 500 yen with tax included. The listing marks offline export with the same footnote, so the purchase is the thing to check before relying on it.

Finding programs and booking recordings

The program guide lists what is on each channel. From there, or from a keyword or genre search, you can set a recording on the nasne straight from the phone without going to the TV.

Two other lists help with finding shows. One ranks programs by the recording reservations of other torne users, which the listing calls トル情報. The other is a set of picks chosen by torne's mascot, トルネフ, each with a short comment. Both can be booked from the same screen.

Niconico Jikkyo comments and offline copies

While a broadcast plays, you can read and post Niconico Jikkyo comments, the scrolling viewer chat used on Japanese streams. This is built into the watching screen rather than run as a separate app.

Recorded programs can be exported to the phone or tablet and played back later without a connection to the nasne. Export is listed with the same paid unlock as viewing.
