Phone-based remote for TVs and set-top boxes
This app turns an Android phone into a universal TV remote, aimed at people who have lost or misplaced the original handset. The listing names smart TVs, infrared (IR) devices, Android TV and set-top boxes as the things it controls.
The developer presents it mainly as a stand-in for a missing clicker, so the phone handles the everyday job of changing channels and running the TV.
Controlling smart TVs, IR devices and set-top boxes
The listing says the app works as a universal remote across several device types. It mentions support for dozens of configured devices, so one phone can cover more than one set of equipment.
IR devices and set-top boxes are named alongside smart TVs. The listing does not break down which brands or models each device profile covers.
Using the phone as an Android TV remote
The listing describes the app as a working Android TV remote for everyday use. It says no installation is required and the phone can be used to control a TV straight away.
Channel switching is one of the functions the listing highlights, which makes it the most direct use for someone who only needs to change channels from the couch.
Remote buttons on the phone screen
According to the listing, the universal remote's standard functions are all supported. Those controls appear on the phone's screen, so the phone takes the place of the handset's buttons.
The developer also describes the interface as modern and easy on the eyes. The listing gives no further detail on how the buttons are arranged or grouped.
