What the app is for

USB OTG Camera is an Android app that uses your phone as the screen and capture point for an outside camera. The developer describes it as a way to turn a phone into an inspection tool. The camera does the looking, and the app takes the images.

The listing names three kinds of work. The first is checking plumbing. The second is looking into spaces you cannot easily reach. The third is working on small electronic devices. Those are the situations the developer gives as examples, not a full list of what the app is limited to.

The people the listing points to are those who already own or plan to buy an endoscope, microscope or similar USB camera and want something to view it with on Android. The app is not described as a general camera replacement.

Connecting an external camera

USB OTG means the phone supplies power and a data connection to a device plugged into its charging port, usually through an adapter or cable. The app is built around that connection. Without a compatible camera on the other end, the app has nothing to show.

The listing says the app supports external cameras of the inspection type, and it names endoscopes and microscopes in particular. It does not describe how the setup works step by step, which cables or adapters to buy, or how the app reports when a camera is detected.

Whether a particular phone and camera pair will work is not something the listing answers. Compatibility depends on hardware on both ends, and the listing data here does not list tested combinations.

What you can capture

The description says the app captures images from the connected camera, and that the images are of high quality. The listing does not describe the quality in any measurable way, so treat that wording as the developer's claim.

The listing does not mention video recording, timed capture, zoom, measurement overlays, or how captured images are stored, named, exported or shared. Those features may exist, but the listing data here does not confirm them, so this guide does not describe them.

The listing's feature list appears to be cut off after its heading. Anything the developer intended to list beyond connecting a camera and capturing images is missing from the material available to us.

Costs, accounts and what is not stated

The listing data shows no price, so it does not say whether the app is free, paid up front, or sold with in-app purchases. Check the store page for pricing before you install.

The listing data does not mention an account, sign-in, subscription, or whether the app shows advertising. The absence of those terms in this material is not proof they are absent from the app, so confirm them on the store page.

The app is rated PEGI 3 on the listing. The listing data does not say what the app does not attempt beyond the description above, and it makes no claims about privacy, data handling or offline use.
