What the app does and who it suits

Video Status Saver is a downloader for the status posts your friends put up, covering both photos and videos. Its main job is to copy a status into your phone's gallery so it stays there after you have seen it.

It suits people who regularly view friends' statuses and want local copies of the ones they choose. The listing describes the app as free.

Saving a friend's status to the gallery

The listing's steps start in the app: open it, view your friends' story statuses, then return to the saver. From there you check which statuses you want and tap the download button for each one.

Saved photos and videos are written to the gallery, so they show up alongside your other media.

Keeping and sharing saved statuses

Each status you choose can be kept, and the developer says you can keep them saved for good. Saved files can then be shared with friends or reposted to other social media.

This makes the app useful for collecting statuses you want to revisit or pass on, rather than only watching them once.

Viewing statuses without the seen mark

The listing says you can view friends' statuses without them being marked as seen. It describes this as part of the viewing flow that leads into saving.

Saving itself is done by picking statuses after viewing them, as described in the steps above.
