What this weather app covers and who it suits

Weather is a forecast app that works for any location, not just the one where you live. The developer lists coverage of more than 700,000 cities worldwide, so one app can cover home, work and travel.

It suits someone who wants a single place to check daily conditions across several cities, and who also wants forecasts that go beyond the next few hours.

Hourly and 15-day forecasts with precipitation

Each location shows current weather along with an hour-by-hour forecast and a 15-day outlook. Precipitation is included in these forecasts, which helps with planning outdoor plans or commutes around rain or snow.

The hourly view is useful for short-range decisions, such as whether to bring an umbrella this afternoon. The 15-day view is better for planning trips or events further ahead.

Air quality readings and clothing advice

The app reports air quality for each location, so a person with breathing sensitivities or an outdoor schedule can check conditions before heading out.

Weather-based clothing advice turns the forecast into a suggestion for what to wear. It is a quick way to check a day's temperature and conditions without reading the numbers themselves.

Severe weather warnings and precautions

Severe weather warnings are the part of the app meant for urgent situations. The developer says these alerts come with precautions to take, so a warning includes guidance on what to do, not only a notice that something is coming.

Because the alerts sit alongside the regular forecast, a person can move from a daily check to an active warning in the same app.
