Yape allows payments between individuals / businesses quickly and reliably
By Mei-Lin Chua
Contributing editor, apps and storefronts
This is a mobile payment app built around sending money to someone's phone number or by scanning a QR code. The developer describes transfers as free and available around the clock across the country.
It suits anyone who pays with their phone, and shops or sellers who want customers to pay them through it. The listing cites more than 18 million users and more than 2 million businesses that accept payments.
The build we hold is Yape 3.69.2 (APKS split bundle) for Android 9.0 and up.

Transfers go to a contact's mobile number, typed in by hand, or are made by scanning a QR code. The same scan works for paying a shop as well as a person.
The listing says these transfers carry no fee and can be made at any hour, which covers paying a friend late at night or a shop on a weekend.
Phone credit can be topped up from wherever you are, and the listing says no commission is charged on the top-up. The app also pays telephone, electricity, water and gas bills, along with other services.
Bill payments and top-ups sit in the same app as transfers, so one balance covers both.
Products can be bought through the app with discounts and promotions the developer describes as exclusive to it. Loans can be requested for whatever is needed, and the listing says the process involves no paperwork.
Insurance plans can be bought for an individual or for a business from the same app.
Cash can be taken out at the agent and ATM network of Banco de Credito del Peru. This is the route for people who need notes in hand rather than a transfer to another person.
