What this Tensura RPG is and who it suits
This is a 3D role-playing game in the Tensura world, built around an original story that the original author, Fuse, supervised. Rimuru, Benimaru, Shuna, Shion, Gobta and Gabiru appear alongside characters made only for the game.
The plot centres on Shinshiya, a mysterious girl who claims to be Rimuru's daughter, and Isis, a witch from the Mirror Kingdom and her followers. It suits fans of the series who want new story content and a battle system to play with.
Command battles and skill effects
Battles are turn-based and run on command cards. You choose from a hand of cards each turn, so the controls stay simple, while the skills follow those used in the original work.
Ultimate attacks are staged with large, flashy effects in the style of the anime. Battles also include voiced lines from the cast.
Anime story segments and the opening theme
The story section replays the anime's first season with its well-known scenes and full voice acting. The original storyline runs alongside it, with characters such as Another Gabiru, who has become king in the mirror world, and Another Shion, who absorbed the souls of her fellow villagers.
The opening theme is "Glitter" by Takuya Terashima, written for the game. It plays over an original opening animation made by the studio Eight Bit, which also produced the anime.
Building and walking through your own nation
The nation system lets you create your own Tempest. You can build houses for your retainers, a restaurant, a smithy, a research lab and a magic amplification facility.
Once the town is built, you can walk through it freely and chat with the residents, which adds a slower, everyday side to the battle content.
Raising characters with devouring and the Great Sage
The devouring system recreates the predator mechanic from the original series and is used to raise characters into stronger fighters. If you get stuck, the Great Sage system suggests a play direction to follow.
