A Bible app for reading and studying Scripture

Bible by Olive Tree is a Bible reader from Gospel Technologies that also carries a large library of study material. The Bible text comes in KJV, NIV and ESV, and the listing describes the study side as thousands of resources. It suits readers who work through passages with commentaries, maps or original-language tools open beside the text, not only people who want a plain reader.

Reading the Bible with no internet connection

The listing says the Bible text, the audio Bibles and the other study tools all work without a WiFi connection. A phone with no network still opens them, so the app can be used on a plane, in a place with poor signal, or on a device that is not online.

Audio Bibles, ebooks and audiobooks

Audio Bibles are listed as a resource in their own right and also run offline. The library also includes ebooks and audiobooks, and the listing says some of these are paid while others are free.

Commentaries, study Bibles and Bible maps

The listing names commentaries, study Bibles and Bible maps as resources in the same library. Keeping them in one app means the text, the notes and the maps can be opened without switching to another program.

Reading plans, devotionals and original-language tools

Reading plans and devotionals are listed for guiding daily reading through the Bible. Greek and Hebrew tools are listed for working with the original languages of the text, for readers who want to look past the translation.
