What the CASIO Sampler App controls

CASIO Sampler App is a companion for a CASIO sampler. It runs on a smartphone and connects to the sampler's sample banks, sequences and device settings, so some of the editing can happen on the phone's screen instead of the hardware.

The app is built around the sampler's own data, so its features cover sample management, waveform editing, sequence editing, backup and firmware.

Importing samples and arranging pads

Audio files in WAV, MP3 and FLAC format can be imported from the phone. Samples can be copied or moved between banks, and the sampler holds up to 80 banks of 16 pads each.

This is the part of the app for building and rearranging a sample set before playing it.

Editing waveforms on the phone screen

Waveforms are shown in detail on the phone, and a pinch gesture zooms in and out. The start and end points of a sample can be adjusted visually on the waveform.

Zooming in lets you place those points precisely before you commit the change.

Building sequences and patterns

Patterns are created on a clear grid. Copy and paste works by measure or by track, which lets you repeat or reuse parts of a pattern without rebuilding them. The app manages up to 50 sequences.

Backing up, renaming and restoring data

Sound banks and sequence patterns can be organized, renamed and backed up separately. Sequences can be imported and exported together with the samples they use, so a pattern travels with its audio. A single operation backs up or restores all data at once.

Firmware updates, device settings such as battery type, auto power-off and brightness, and checks on available storage and remaining recording time are also handled from the app.
