What Control Center does to the Android status bar
Control Center is a phone customiser that reworks the pull-down area at the top of the screen. The developer describes it as a way to change how the device looks and to put common settings within reach.
It suits people who want their quick settings and notifications to work differently from the stock Android layout. Setup is a matter of choosing a layout and then adjusting colours and trigger areas.
Splitting notifications from device controls
Swiping down from the left edge of the status bar opens notifications. Swiping down from the right edge opens the control side, where device settings and actions sit.
The areas that respond to each swipe can be moved to suit the user. This keeps the two functions from competing for the same gesture.
Quick toggles, screenshots and screen recording
The control panel carries quick settings, screen recorders, screenshot buttons, a night mode switch, screen lock options and volume controls. Each one is reached from the panel without opening the full Settings app.
Screen recording and screenshots sit alongside the toggles, so the panel can serve as a single place for the tasks a person repeats most often.
Camera, clock and favourite app shortcuts
The panel can hold a shortcut to the camera and a clock view. Users can also add their own favourite apps, so frequently used programmes open straight from the panel.
These shortcuts are what turn the panel from a settings menu into a launcher for everyday apps.
Layouts and colour customisation
There are two layouts. One combines notifications and quick toggles in a single panel. The other keeps a separate control center, so notifications and controls are split.
Colour can be applied to every element of the base layout. The listing says the whole design can be changed in a few steps and then fine-tuned to personal preference.
