What the Cult Connect companion app is for
The cult connect app is the phone side of a Cult smartwatch. The listing describes it as the way to link the watch to a phone, after which the watch shows activity data and alerts that the phone receives. Everything it does depends on owning a compatible Cult watch.
The listing presents it for general fitness and wellness, and states that it is not for medical use. It suits people who wear a Cult watch and want their steps, sleep and heart rate kept in one place on their phone.
Tracking steps, sleep and heart rate
The app records steps, distance, calories and heart rate from the watch, and monitors sleep. Results appear as graphs of steps, sleep and heart rate, which can be viewed by day, by week or by month.
Viewing a longer period shows how activity and rest change over weeks, rather than only the current day.
Getting calls and app alerts on the wrist
Once the watch is connected, incoming and missed phone calls and SMS messages show up on the watch. The listing also says you can choose other apps whose notifications should reach the watch, and names WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter as examples.
This lets you check who is calling or messaging without taking the phone out of your pocket.
Using the watch as a camera remote
The listing says a smartphone camera connected to the app can be controlled from the Cult smartwatch. The watch therefore works as a remote shutter for taking photos on the phone.
The listing does not describe other camera controls beyond this.
Watch faces and the vibration alarm
You can switch between watch faces on the Cult watch and customise the face. Alarms are set inside the app, and the watch wakes you with a vibration instead of a sound.
Both settings are configured from the app and then carried out on the watch.
