Editor, tools and utilities
DROFUS - ISO 2 USB is a utility for writing operating system images onto a USB drive from an Android phone, so a computer is not needed for the burn. It accepts ISO, DMG and IMG files, along with .gz, .xz and .zip archives, which it unpacks as it writes. The listing also refers to it as ISO to USB.
It suits people who want a bootable Windows installer, a live Linux stick, a Raspberry Pi card or a FreeDOS disk without a PC. Internet access is needed unless you have bought Pro. The app should stay in the foreground during a write.
For Windows you choose the partition scheme, either GPT for UEFI or MBR for BIOS and UEFI-CSM, and the file system, NTFS or FAT32. You can also pick the exact edition from inside the ISO. Official Microsoft ISOs are written unmodified. If install.wim is too large for FAT32, the app can split it so it fits.
Windows To Go writes a full Windows that boots and runs from the USB drive itself. A Windows installer burn or a Windows To Go burn costs 2 tokens. A high-speed mode is offered for faster writes.
For Windows 10 and 11, the app can change what the setup asks for. You can skip the TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and 4GB RAM checks, remove the online Microsoft account step in favour of a local account with your own user name, skip the privacy questions, and turn off BitLocker automatic device encryption.
Other options stop Copilot, OneDrive, Outlook and Fast Startup from being forced on, match the installer's regional options to the current device, and set the target PC's internal drives offline during setup. It can also apply SkuSiPolicy.p7b at install time and use Windows UEFI CA 2023 signed bootloaders.
By default, a Linux, Raspberry Pi or DMG image is written raw, block for block, which keeps the original layout and boot structure. That raw write is free. Opening Advanced Options for a Linux ISO lets you choose the file system and partition scheme instead, and that costs 2 tokens.
A persistent partition can be added to a live Linux drive, so files, apps and settings are kept between boots. DMG support covers Intel-based macOS images only. Raspberry Pi OS and other ARM-based images are listed as supported.
Non-bootable mode formats a drive without writing an image. You choose GPT or MBR, FAT32, exFAT or NTFS, a custom cluster size and a volume label. This costs 1 token, and FreeDOS and MS-DOS burns also cost 1 token. Supported drives include USB flash drives, SD card adapters and external SSDs.
Before writing, the app warns when an ISO looks truncated or corrupted from an interrupted download, and when the selected file is not bootable. It also checks free space on both the drive and phone storage. Rewarded video ads earn tokens. Pro is a one-time lifetime purchase that removes banner and video ads, turns the token system off and lets you use the app offline.
The build we hold is DROFUS - ISO 2 USB 12.1.1 (APKS split bundle) for Android 10 and up.
