The Fitbit Ace app is the phone side of the Fitbit Ace LTE, a smartwatch made for children. The watch is the child's device, and the app is where a parent or guardian controls it from their own phone.
The app covers four jobs: calling and texting the child, seeing their location, checking their activity levels, and managing their contacts. Someone who has been invited as a contact can also reach the watch from the app.
You can place calls to the watch and send it text messages from the app. The developer describes the calls and messages as secure, and the privacy details are published at g.co/fitbitace/privacy.
The build we hold is Fitbit Ace 26.0812.301 (APKS split bundle) for Android 12L and up.

A person added as a contact can make calls and send messages to the child's watch from their own copy of the app. This lets more than one adult stay in touch with the child without sharing a single phone.
The app shows where the child's watch is. The developer lists this as part of the core set of features.
It also shows the child's activity levels, the movement the watch records through the day. Some features, including these, are only available for children who have a supervised Google Account.
Through the app you decide which contacts are stored on the child's watch and can reach it. Contacts can be added or removed from the parent's side.
The Fitbit Ace LTE watch requires a paid Ace Pass data plan to work. The app itself is the controller for the watch, so the watch's calling, texting and location features depend on that plan being active.
