A city game built on expense tracking
Fortune City is a personal finance app that turns recording income and expenses into a city simulation game. Each entry you log moves the city forward, so the bookkeeping is what drives the game. It suits people who want a visual reward for keeping records of their spending.
The city is presented as your personal fortune, growing into a metropolis over time. The listing describes it as a way to watch your finances take shape on screen, rather than as a list of numbers.
Logging income and expenses with taps
Transactions are entered with simple taps, and each one is assigned to a category. Income and expenses are both tracked, so the record covers money coming in as well as money going out.
The listing presents this logging routine as the main activity in the app. The city's progress follows from the records you keep, so the tracking and the game are one loop.
How the city grows as a budget builds
Growth in the city is tied to recording. The more consistently you log transactions, the more the city develops, which the developer presents as a way to build budgeting habits over time.
Because progress comes from logging, the game gives a reason to return and record spending regularly.
Cashy the Cat and the in-game guidance
Cashy the Cat is the game's chief financial officer. The listing has you expand the city alongside this character as you track your money.
Cashy is the character attached to the budgeting side of the game, so the expense tracking and the city-building are presented together through this figure.
