What Plant Nanny is for

Plant Nanny combines a water tracker and drink reminder with a game about collecting and caring for plants. The core job is getting you to drink more water through the day, and the plants are the reward and the reminder that you have not done it yet.

It suits people who tend to forget water until they are thirsty, or who find plain tracking apps easy to ignore. The game layer is the main difference from a standard logging app.

Tracking daily water intake

The app builds a personalized daily water drinking plan and records how much you drink against it. Interactive charts show your consumption over time, so you can see which days you fell short.

The plan is tied to a schedule, so the tracking is about when you drink as well as how much. Both the plan and the charts are the parts of the app that work without the plant game.

Reminders and the plant game

Reminders are set to your water schedule so the app prompts you at the times it has planned for you. The developer describes the plants as a way to build the habit of drinking water, though the app itself only shows the reminders and the plant status.

Each time you log a drink, your digital plant is hydrated. Keeping plants watered is the way you collect new ones, which fill your personal greenhouse as you go.

Collecting plants in your greenhouse

Plants are collected over time and placed in a greenhouse that you see grow as you keep up your drinking. The listing does not describe any other ways to earn or unlock plants, so the greenhouse is the central display for the collection.

Because the plants depend on your logged water, the collection and the tracking are linked. Someone who logs drinks regularly will see the greenhouse change, while someone who stops logging will not.
