Replacing the default Android lock screen

Good Lock : Custom Lock Screen takes the place of the stock lock screen on an Android phone. The developer says it is independent and not connected to Samsung's Good Lock, and that it runs on phones from any manufacturer.

It is aimed at people who want to build their own lock screen look from wallpapers and widgets.

Lock screen widgets for schedule, memos and music

Clock, calendar, schedule and music widgets sit on the lock screen, and you pair them with a wallpaper to form a theme. The listing says your schedule, memos and music can be used straight from the lock screen, without unlocking the phone.

Mini Home is another feature the listing names, and it carries no ads. Ads appear only on the settings pages.

Wallpaper library with weekly additions

The listing says more than 1,200 wallpapers can be downloaded for free inside the app. New high-resolution wallpapers are added every week, so the selection keeps growing.

Each wallpaper can be combined with the widgets to make a lock screen theme of your own.

Unlocking through the phone's own security

Unlocking Good Lock takes you directly to the fingerprint, PIN or pattern already set on the phone, skipping the default lock screen. The listing says the phone's own lock stays in place, so Good Lock sits over it rather than replacing that protection.

No account sign-up is required to use the app.
