OneNote is Microsoft's notebook app. You can keep typed text, pen drawings, scans, voice recordings and clippings from the web in the same notebook. The listing says it opens notebooks created in OneNote 2010 or later.
Notes can sync to OneDrive. For OneDrive for Business, the listing says you sign in with an Office 365 or SharePoint account. Using OneNote requires a free Microsoft account. The listing also says it works alongside Word and Excel.
Ink notes take handwriting and drawings with a pen. The task organiser turns those notes into to-do lists, with follow-up items, marks for important points and custom labels.
You can save memos and writing ideas, and clip pages from the web into a notebook for reference. The listing says Samsung Notes integration brings notes from connected accounts into one place.
Voice dictation writes notes out loud in 27 languages, and the listing says some of them are still in preview. Auto-punctuation adds punctuation to the text as you dictate.
You can also generate a transcript from an audio file. The listing says audio recordings and their transcripts can be used to revisit a discussion later, and to build meeting summaries from voice notes.
The note-taking scanner photographs a document or picture and extracts the text from it. Filters change colours, add ink, and crop the image.
Scanned text becomes searchable along with your typed notes, so you can search across everything in a notebook.
AI chat memos answer questions about your notes. The listing says you can summarise meetings, classes and discussions into documents you can share, and listen to audio overviews made from your own notes. Task organiser items can also get AI-written summaries as action points.
You can lock notes behind security features. The listing says private notes can be shared with enterprise-level security. These AI features are described on the listing as part of OneNote itself, with no separate purchase named.
