What Mototalk is for and who uses it
Mototalk is a communication and field management app for businesses whose staff spend their days away from a desk. It turns ordinary smartphones into push-to-talk radios and adds a messenger and a set of management tools for supervisors. Full access to its features requires a subscription, which the listing says is sold through the developer's website.
The app suits teams such as field service crews, sales visits and anyone who needs a supervisor to see where people are and what they have finished. The phone replaces a separate radio, and the same app holds the team's messages, visit schedules and records.
Push-to-talk calls and messaging
Push-to-talk works like a walkie-talkie: press to speak, release to listen. Calls can go to one colleague or to a group, and the listing says calls can be recorded.
Alongside the calls, the messenger sends text and voice notes. Staff can also share contacts, images, files and their location, and supervisors can send and receive alerts to flag urgent events.
Tracking staff location and working hours
Location tracking shows where external team members are in real time, which lets a supervisor monitor people who are not in the office.
The workday feature records when each person starts and ends their shift and where they were, with photos and times attached. The result is a log of each job journey that can be reviewed later.
Planning visits, goals and surveys
The itinerary tool lays out a team's visits and tracks them against execution time and period time limits. Visits can be ranked by priority, so the most important ones are handled first.
Supervisors can set goals for each employee and create surveys that are sent automatically when a visit is marked complete. Survey responses can then be turned into reports, and the same app can deliver training sessions to staff.
