Notepad - simple notes

Plain text notes for lists, memos and reminders

Notepad is a plain text notetaking app that the listing describes as small and fast. It is aimed at memos, shopping lists, to-do lists and a simple daily planner. A task can get its own note, or a single long to-do note can hold all of them.

The developer lists email as the support contact.

Writing, organising and finding notes

Notes can be created, edited and grouped into categories. The listing sets no limit on note length or note count beyond the phone's own storage. Changes are saved automatically, and undo and redo work within a note.

Numbered lines can be shown inside a note, and ruled lines can sit in the background. A search function finds text inside notes.

Home screen note widgets

A notes widget can be placed on the home screen. Tapping it creates a new note or opens an existing one for editing, so a memo can sit on the home screen the way a sticky note sits on a desk. The listing gives reminders as an example use.

Importing, exporting, sharing and backing up

Notes can be imported from txt files and saved back out as txt files. A note can also be sent to another app, such as email. For protection, all notes can be saved to a single zip backup file and loaded from one again. The listing advises making a backup before formatting or replacing a phone.

The backup can also use the phone's device copy, when that is turned on in both the device settings and the app settings.

Locking the app and changing the theme

An app password can lock Notepad. Unlocking with a fingerprint or face recognition is also offered as an option. Colour themes are included, with a dark theme among them.
