A drum kit on a phone or tablet

Real Drum turns a phone or tablet into a drum set that you play with your fingers. The listing presents it as a way to learn drums, play along to music and make your own rhythms, without needing a physical kit.

It is aimed at people who want structured drum lessons or who want to try drumming before buying hardware.

Video lessons and play-along loops

The app includes video lessons intended to guide a beginner through learning the drums. It also provides a set of loops, so you can practise against a backing track rather than in silence.

Lessons and loops are meant to be used together: watch the instruction, then play along to the music.

Building beats with the sequencer

The sequencer lets you switch on individual steps, assign drum sounds to them and assemble a pattern that repeats while the music plays. Changing which steps are active and which sounds are combined is how you try out new patterns.

Because the pattern loops continuously, you can hear each change as you make it.

Percussion sounds for any song

The app offers a range of percussion instruments, which the listing describes as high-quality sounds. The developer's stated goal is to let you play whatever music you want.

The listing says that an acoustic drum set or electronic drums are not required to learn with the app.
