What Real Guitar is and who it suits

Real Guitar: acoustic electric is a virtual guitar app for Android, listed under Music. It covers three things people usually want from a guitar app: structured lessons, backing loops to play over, and a large chord and scale reference for writing songs. The developer pitches it at complete beginners, players who already know their way around the neck, and people who mainly want to rock out.

Lessons from first chords to advanced technique

The app includes 100 built-in lessons. According to the listing, they run from basic chords up to advanced techniques, so the set goes from first chord shapes to harder playing. Each lesson is self-paced, which means you choose when to move on.

Jamming over looped backing tracks

Interactive loops in several musical styles give you a rhythm to play along with. You can use them to practice timing or to jam without other musicians. Playing over a loop is the main way the app turns a set of lessons into something closer to a band practice.

Writing songs with the 22-fret scale and chord library

The fretboard runs the full 22 frets, so you can build melodies across the whole neck. The chord library holds more than 1500 chords, which gives you a wide set of voicings to draw on when writing your own songs.

Acoustic and electric guitars, strumming and shredding

You can strum chords and shred solos on a range of acoustic and electric guitars. The developer describes the sound as studio quality and the playing as realistic, which are the developer's own claims and not something this page has checked.
