Good

Hourly forecasts for the next 72 hours
Daily outlook running 15 days ahead
Air quality, UV, humidity and wind alongside the forecast
Weather warnings shown with the current conditions

Not so good

"Most accurate" is a claim the app gives you no way to check
Hourly detail stops at three days out
Days 8 to 15 are long-range guesswork in any forecast
Lifestyle tips add clutter if you only want the numbers

A standard forecast app from a phone maker

Daily Weather is a general forecast app from Transsion Holdings, the company behind the HiOS and XOS phone launchers. It shows current conditions, forecasts by the hour and by the day, and a set of secondary readings, with suggestions for what to wear or whether to plan a run. Play counts more than 1,000,000,000 installs, so it is one of the most widely installed weather apps on Android.

It is free to install. Nothing in what the developer offers points to a subscription tier or to an account you have to create before you can see a forecast.

What you actually get

The core is two forecasts. One is hour by hour for the next 72 hours, which is the stretch you use to decide about an umbrella or a commute. The other is day by day for 15 days. That long outlook is a nice extra for rough planning, but forecasts past about a week are broad trends in any app, so treat its far end as a hint rather than a schedule.

Around the forecast sit the readings people check most: sunrise and sunset, humidity, UV index, wind speed, precipitation and air quality. Air quality and UV are worth having in one place, especially if you have allergies or burn easily. Weather warnings appear with animated effects that follow the current sky.

The developer also pitches the app as a daily helper. It gives advice on travel, outdoor sport and clothing based on the conditions. Some people like being told it is a coat day. If you only read the numbers, it is one more panel to scroll past.

The accuracy pitch and the verdict

The developer calls its forecasts the most precise and reliable in the world. Nothing in the app gives you a way to judge that, and every weather app makes a similar promise, so it should not be the reason you install this one. Judged on what it offers, this is a capable, conventional set of features. Long hourly range, a two-week outlook, alerts and air quality cover what most people check, and nothing stands out as missing from the basics.

If it is already on your phone, there is little reason to replace it for everyday checks. If you are choosing a weather app from scratch, nothing in its offer sets it clearly above the established alternatives, and anyone who wants pure data without lifestyle advice may prefer something leaner.
