What this OPPO screen recorder is for
Screen recording is OPPO's built-in style recorder for capturing whatever is on the phone display as a video file. The listing names the developer as ColorOS and places the app in the Tools category, describing it as a simple screen recorder.
It suits someone who needs to record the screen quickly and share the result, rather than someone looking for a full video editor. Editing is limited to what the listing mentions: opening a finished clip before sharing it.
Starting a recording from different places
The recorder can be opened from the Smart Sidebar that slides out from the screen edge, from Quick Settings after swiping down from the top, or by searching for it from the Home screen. During a game, a diagonal swipe from the upper-left corner to the lower-right corner opens the Game Space menu, which includes the recorder.
Having several entry points means the same tool can be reached whether you are in an app, on the Home screen, or playing a game.
Choosing video quality before recording
Before a recording starts, you choose the definition, the frame rate and the coding format. The listing does not give the specific values on offer, so those depend on what the recorder shows on your device.
These three settings control the trade-off between picture sharpness, smoothness of motion and the format the video is saved in.
Recording sound, the front camera and touches
Audio can come from the system, from the microphone, or from both at once, so a recording can include game or app sound together with your voice. You can also record video from the front camera at the same time as the screen, which places your own footage alongside what is on the display.
Screen touches can be recorded, so taps show up in the video. A pause button on the recorder toolbar lets you stop and restart a recording without ending it.
Sharing and editing a finished recording
When a recording finishes, a floating window appears on the screen. Tapping Share under that window sends the clip on, and tapping the window itself opens the video so you can edit it before sharing.
The listing does not describe which editing tools are inside that editor, so the editing options are limited to what you find when you open the clip.
