What SELPHY Photo Layout is for
SELPHY Photo Layout is a Canon app for arranging photos from your phone or tablet into layouts and sending them to a SELPHY compact photo printer. It runs on Android and works with images already stored on the device. The layouts you build can be saved for printing later.
It is aimed at people who own a SELPHY printer and want to print from a phone without a computer. The listing names the CP series (CP1500, CP1300, CP1200, CP910 and CP900) and the QX series (QX20 and SQUARE QX10) as supported printers.
Printing individual photos from the Photos menu
The Photos menu lets you pick pictures from your library and print them directly, without building a layout first. The phone connects to the printer over a wireless link.
For the CP1300, CP1200, CP910 and CP900, the separate Canon PRINT app must also be installed. The listing says this is required for those four models.
Building collage layouts before printing
The Collage menu is for putting several photos on one sheet. You can place and decorate the images freely before sending the layout to the printer. Saved layouts can be reopened and printed again.
Layouts are built from JPEG, PNG and HEIF files stored on the phone or tablet, so photos from the camera roll can be used as they are.
Printers and image formats it supports
On the printer side, the listing covers five CP series models (CP1500, CP1300, CP1200, CP910 and CP900) and two QX series models (QX20 and SQUARE QX10). Each printer uses the same photo and collage menus in the app.
Image input is limited to three formats: JPEG, PNG and HEIF. Other file types are not listed as supported.
