What Sparklite is and who it suits
Sparklite is an action-adventure roguelite played from a top-down view. You move through Geodia, a bright, colourful land, fighting monsters and mining-industry titans with a set of gadgets, guns and gear. Its roguelite structure means the world is procedurally generated, so the dangerous areas you explore are not fixed.
The listing presents it as a game for people who like top-down action and pixel-art adventures. The first Titan can be reached for free. After that, a single payment unlocks the rest of the game, and the listing says there are no in-app purchases.
Combat and building your arsenal
Combat centres on the Sparklite, the power the game is named after, which you use against monsters and titans. Alongside it you carry an arsenal of gadgets, guns and gear that you put together yourself.
The listing says you invent parts of this arsenal to solve puzzles, defeat enemies and grow stronger. Each piece you build changes what you can do in the dangerous corners of the world.
Exploring Geodia and rebuilding The Refuge
Geodia is the setting for both exploration and story. The listing describes befriending the locals and helping them build The Refuge, a base that grows as you help the people in it.
The main plot follows your effort to save the environment from the greedy Baron, who is pushing the land toward ruin through mining. Exploration, combat and the rebuilding of The Refuge are described as parts of the same loop.
Pixel art, soundtrack and mobile play
The visuals use an intricate pixel art style. The soundtrack is original, written by composer Dale North, who also worked on Wizard of Legend, and is described as inspired by retro games.
The mobile version has a revamped interface and adds achievements. It supports controllers, and Cloud Save lets you share progress between Android devices.
What's new
Added button glyphs for the Sony DualSense gamepad.
