Test DPC is a sample device policy controller for use with Android Enterprise.
Senior reviews editor
Test DPC is a sample device policy controller from Google LLC, built for Android Enterprise. It lets a developer see how their own app behaves when it runs in a managed context, either as device owner or inside a managed profile. The intended users are developers.
The listing says the app is for development only and is not meant for production. It should never be used with real data.
The app can set up a work profile, the separate managed space Android Enterprise uses to keep work apps and data apart from personal ones. Once the profile exists, you can enable work apps inside it, so you can check how an app behaves when installed in the managed space.
The build we hold is Test DPC 9.0.16 (APK) for Android 6.0 and up.

Device owner is the other managed context the app covers. Running an app under both setups shows whether it handles each one correctly.
Test DPC lets you set application restrictions, which control how managed apps are allowed to behave. It also manages security policies on the device. Together these show how an app responds when an administrator tightens its settings.
The listing also mentions further policy controls beyond these two.
The app is also meant as an implementation reference for other device policy controllers. Its source code is public in the googlesamples/android-testdpc repository on GitHub, so developers building their own DPC can read how the managed-context calls are made.
