What Typewise is and who it is for
Typewise is a replacement keyboard for Android and iPhone. Its main difference is a honeycomb, or hexagonal, key layout in place of the standard QWERTY grid. The developer aims it at people who want bigger keys, people who make frequent typos, and people who write in more than one language.
Beyond the layout, it includes emoji, text fonts and background themes, so most of the customizing happens in the keyboard's appearance and in how it types.
Typing on the honeycomb layout
The listing says the honeycomb keys are 70% larger than standard keys and that the layout cuts typos by a factor of four. Those are the developer's figures, not results shown here. Layouts available include the honeycomb option, traditional QWERTY, QWERTZ and AZERTY, and the honeycomb layout is aimed especially at users of Dvorak and Colemak.
Three gestures handle common edits: swipe up on a letter to capitalize it, swipe left to delete, and swipe right to restore what was deleted.
Autocorrect and word suggestions
Typewise says its autocorrect and predictions learn from what you type, so suggestions adjust to your own vocabulary over time.
Under Typewise PRO, the listing adds personalized word suggestions and custom text replacements, which expand a short trigger into a longer phrase you define.
Multilingual typing and fonts
You can write in several languages without switching the keyboard, and the fonts change automatically as you move between them. The supported list runs from Afrikaans and Basque to Breton, Hinglish, Turkish and many more, with regional variants such as US, UK and Canadian English and Swiss German.
Font choice is a stated feature: you can switch to other fonts, and PRO lets you change the font size.
Privacy and the PRO upgrade
The developer says the keyboard runs on the device and that typing data is not sent to the cloud. The privacy notes say the app collects basic, anonymous usage data for its tutorial, game and settings, and that this can be turned off through the offline mode setting. The keyboard itself is not tracked, per the same notes.
The features listed under Typewise PRO include 16 additional themes, key vibration intensity, tablet mode, emoji style, swipe behavior, space button sensitivity and multi-language typing without switching.
