What Digimon UP is and who it suits
Digimon UP is a Digimon raising RPG built around idle play. You pick a partner, train it, evolve it and send it into battles that run on their own. The listing presents it as a game for adults with limited time, though nothing in it requires constant attention.
Most of the roster comes from the Digimon Adventure and Digimon Tamers series, with newer anime Digimon also included. The listing says the characters are newly drawn as pixel art.
Choosing and raising a partner Digimon
At the start you choose one Digimon from the lineup as your partner. The listing says every character can be obtained and trained, and that every Digimon is intended to be useful in battle, so the roster is not split into a few main picks and filler.
Training leads to evolution, and the listing names the Ultimate form as the top stage you can reach. Evolving and raising a Digimon is the main way to make your team stronger.
Idle battles and progress while offline
Battles are fully automatic. The listing says no action inputs or timed reactions are needed, and that player skill such as reflexes does not affect results. Progress is slower and steadier than a standard action RPG.
The partner Digimon keeps fighting and collecting items even when the game is not open. Because of this, the listing presents the game as one you can check in on during commutes, meals or breaks rather than sit down with for long stretches.
How the partner, training and battle loop fits together
The game follows a set cycle: choose a partner, train it, evolve it, then battle. The materials and items gathered in battle feed the training and evolution steps, so the parts connect rather than sitting apart.
The start-of-campaign gift of Gekomon and Taichi and Agumon gives new players two Digimon before they choose their own.
