What this contacts app covers and who uses it
BlackBerry Hub+ Contacts is a contacts manager that gathers phone numbers, email addresses and other details from several accounts in one place. It also shows calendar events you have shared with a contact, and lets you create and manage contact groups.
On BlackBerry devices it is free and is meant to work alongside the BlackBerry Hub+ Services app, which the listing says keeps the other BlackBerry applications consistent and handles subscriptions. On other Android phones, the developer lists 30 days of full functionality, after which a monthly subscription removes ads and unlocks the wider Hub+ suite, including Inbox, Calendar, Notes, Tasks and Launcher. Enterprise customers are directed to a separate contact form.
Syncing work and personal email accounts
The app keeps local contacts and contacts synced from email providers in the same list. The listing names Gmail, Yahoo!, Office 365, Outlook.com and Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, and says other providers are supported as well.
This matters if you keep a work account and a personal account on one phone. Contacts from both appear together, so you do not switch between separate address books to find someone.
Finding people and adding details to contacts
You can search your organisation's work directory address list directly from the device, without leaving the app. This is useful for finding a colleague's details that are not already saved on your phone.
When you add a new contact, you can search for a business or location and attach it to that entry. Contact groups let you organise people into sets you create and maintain yourself.
Sharing contacts and controlling which details go out
The listing describes a way to share a contact while controlling which of its information is included, so the recipient does not get every field. The developer presents this as a way to protect the personal data of the person being shared.
The dark theme is a display option that changes the app's colours. It is the only appearance setting the listing mentions.
Using the app on a company-managed device
The app supports Android Enterprise deployment, so an IT administrator can roll it out to managed devices. When the administrator allows it, personal and work contacts can be unified in one view while the stored data stays separated.
This arrangement lets a single device hold both kinds of contacts without the work data mixing into the personal set. The listing does not say how the administrator controls are set up beyond this.
