What e-Processo tracks and who it is for

e-Processo follows case files, called processos, that are open at three Brazilian federal bodies: the Receita Federal (RFB), the CARF tax appeals council and the PGFN, the Attorney General's Office for the National Treasury. The listing presents it as a way to check the status of these cases without going through the offices in person.

Because cases can be searched by CPF or CNPJ, the app is aimed at people and companies who want to see the processos tied to their own tax registration. A search by process number covers a case when the number is already known.

Searching a process and reading its record

A search by CPF, CNPJ or process number returns the case. From there you can view its basic details, the history of what has happened on it, and the parties listed in it, including joint and several parties (solidários) and subsidiary parties (subsidiários).

The history view is the place to see the sequence of movements on a case. The party list shows who else is attached to it, which matters when a case names more than one taxpayer.

Following cases with favorites and alerts

Cases can be saved to a favorites list, which the listing calls a list of processos being monitored. Saved cases stay in one place, so you do not need to search for them again.

For each favorite, the app can send alerts when the case moves or when an electronic notice of acknowledgment (ciência eletrônica) is issued. A separate alert fires whenever a new document is attached to a favorited case. Push notifications are sent to the phone and can be configured in the app's settings.

Viewing documents and requesting attachments

Documents attached to a process can be viewed in the app and copied. Viewing, copying and submitting document requests all require sign-in with a gov.br account at Silver (prata) or Gold (ouro) level. As an alternative, the listing says you can register your phone on the RFB's e-CAC portal and then activate it in the app.

Requesting that documents be added to a case (juntada) is available only for processos held by RFB units or by CARF. Cases that sit with other bodies do not offer this option.
