What this spy word party game is and who it suits
Imposter Up - Who is the Spy? is a party game of hidden roles and bluffing for groups. Most players get the same secret word, and the Imposter is the one who does not, so the Imposter has to fake knowledge and blend in with the others. It plays with 3 to 24 people, which covers a small table as well as a large party.
The developer positions it for friends and family parties, remote play and casual calls. The content is rated PEGI 3.
How a round plays out: roles, clues and voting
The Imposter receives a different word from the Civilians and must hide that fact while giving clues. Mr. White receives no word at all, so every clue Mr. White gives is bluffing. Mr. White wins the round by surviving or by guessing the word.
Players ask indirect questions, give vague answers and watch each other for hesitation, slip-ups and overconfidence. The group then votes to eliminate the most suspicious player, one at a time, until the real identities come out. The developer describes each game as quick and hard to predict.
Playing in person, on video calls or remotely
The game is pitched for in-person game nights and for groups that cannot meet in one room. It is listed for video calls, remote play and casual calls, so the same rules work whether everyone is around one table or spread across a call.
The developer's own framing is that the 3 to 24 player range makes it usable for both small groups and large gatherings.
Secret words and themed word packs
The listing says the game includes hundreds of secret words and themed word packs. Those words are what every Civilian and the Imposter are working from, so the pool of words sets how each round feels.
The developer describes the rules as simple to learn and full of strategy, with enough replayability to play many rounds.
